Oasis Television choose Scrub

Busy London post house Oasis Television has chosen Scrub, the Soho-based division of HHB Communications, to supply and install two new Pro Tools suites with ICON integrated consoles.
Providing clients with a high level of flexibility, the identical Pro Tools HD3 Accel systems are based on Windows XP and are equipped with Virtual Katy and Avid Mojo. The system in Oasis’ Audio 5 room is controlled by a 16 fader ICON D-Control while the system in Audio 3 is controlled by an 8 fader ICON D Command.
Home to a staff of 80, Oasis works on long and short-form projects for a range of major broadcasters and independent production companies, doing everything from graphics, grading, compositing and audio, through to offline and online editing and HD work.
For co-owner Gareth Mullaney, two key factors drove the decision to opt for Pro Tools.
“Workflow is one of the main issues,” he said. “We have about 25 Avids in total, so the way that Pro Tools integrates with Avid made it a viable choice. We also looked at Pro Tools on its own merits and compared it to other products out there. The feedback that we had from our dubbing mixers was that it was a great system to work with – a powerful tool that would enable them to enhance the work they did. Basically, Pro Tools ticked all the boxes.”
Asked about his choice of supplier, Mullaney is equally as emphatic. “Scrub came recommended as a good company to deal with excellent technical and training support. Ben Nemes and his team undertook an evaluation and were quick to understand what we were trying to achieve. They were able to demonstrate the equipment to us before we made the purchase and presented us with all the options. As part of HHB, they were able to supply the full package of peripheral equipment, and it also helps that they’re just around the corner.”
