SKILLSET UPS HEALTH AND SAFETY TRAINING

News Image
SKILLSET, the national training organisation, are to invest a further £75,000 into their subsidised Health and Safety Training programme.
The funding, which will be drawn from Skillset’s Freelance Training Fund and Skills investment, will double the amount currently invested in this area.
The increase in funds will allow around 200 individuals the option of accessing health and safety training.
Diane Caine, Chief Executive of Skillset, said: “We have increased the number of training providers so there are far more places available and more locations to train. Employees from film and television will benefit and new programmes for grades such as construction and production managers have been developed. I urge employers and employees to take advantage of these opportunities.”
David Martin, Director of FT2, one of the key providers of the new course, said: “Compliance on Health and Safety is one of the leading production issues of the day. This new funding will allow us to work with members of the Production Guild, the PMA and PACT to move towards securing the UK’s reputations the safest production environment in the world.”
The training will be available to Health and Safety grades including construction managers, technicians and location managers. Employees throughout the film and television industry will be eligible for the funding and all training will result in individuals receiving their Skillset Certificates in Health and Safety.
