SKY NEWS ANNOUNCE DEAL WITH YAHOO

SKY NEWS based in Isleworth have announced a content distribution deal with the internet company, Yahoo UK! & Ireland.
The content deal means that Sky News will provide daily news to Yahoo! News. The service collects news content from several national and international news providers.
Head of Sky News Online Development, Tom Symonds, said: “This major distribution deal will further drive recognition of the Sky News brand on the web. Sky will develop additional innovative online content in the coming months.”
Sky News will provide UK, world and showbusiness news daily to Yahoo! UK & Ireland. The initial provision of a text-based service by Sky News is hoped to be the start of a developing content relationship between the two companies.
The deal, which lasts for six months initially, is the first of its kind for Europe’s 24-hour news channel and consolidates Sky News increasing presence online.
Sky News claim that over the past two years www.sky.com/news has grown into one of the most popular online news providers in the UK. (CD)
