BRIEF ENCOUNTERS ANNOUNCE WINNERS
BRIEF Encounters the annual short film festival recently held in Bristol have announced this year’s award winners.
This year three new awards were introduced to the festival. The ‘Five Minute Pathe Award’ has been given to ‘To Be Continued’ directed by Linus Tunstrom. The film will be distributed nationally in cinemas attached to a forthcoming release from leading independent UK producer and Distributor Pathe.
The ‘International Jury Award’ selected by an international jury of film industry professionals went to ‘Hong Kong’, directed by Gerard Holthuis who will receive a prize of £3000.
The ‘Short-circuit Award for Best British Film’ was awarded to ‘Jomeo and Ruliet’, directed by Alnoor Dewshi. ‘Jomeo and Ruliet’ will be accepted into the Short Circuit scheme, which seeks to exhibit short films in cinemas across the UK.
Other awards included the DepicT 2000 award, which went to ‘Big’, directed by Sara Dunlop and the Atomfilms Audience Award, which was won by ‘The Last Dream’ directed by Emmanuel Jespers.
