ON-AIR Systems wins first order in Singapore

ON-AIR Systems, international developer of modular broadcast automation systems, has sold its first ON-AIR ’K’ Series family of software solutions in Singapore, having secured an order from a new Christian channel, Angel TV.
ON-AIR playout automation software will be installed in readiness for Angel TV’s on-air launch on Christmas Day 2005.
ON-AIR Systems will provide Angel TV with solutions for automated programme capture, scheduling, media browsing, integrated graphics overlays, play-list management and playout.
“We chose a digital playout system because we wanted to automate our workflow as far as possible. This will allow our staff to maximise our time on the more creative, non-technical functions,” said Sundar Selvaraj, Chairman, Angel TV. “Having checked out other digital playout systems, we found ON-AIR Systems’ equipment easy to learn and doesn’t require a team of specialised operators.”

Angel TV will capture the majority of its programmes from tape using the ON-AIR Kapture module which will enable operators to control and monitor multiple tape machines. Programmes will be stored as files on a central storage system. Angel TV’s schedulers will be able to browse this media using ON-AIR playKast’s scheduling software module to build up the daily schedules.
Angel TV will begin broadcasting six hours a day. ON-AIR Systems will provide training for three operators in preparation for Angel TV’s 24/7 service which is planned for 2006.
