The Mill orders grain management system from Digital Vision

Digital Vision, a leading developer of advanced digital media applications specialising in film and video solutions, has announced that The Mill has purchased and installed a DVNR with AGR4 ME grain management system.
The Mill, a world-leading visual effects company headquartered in London with a second facility in New York, has installed the system from Digital Vision following on from its investment in a new telecine.
Roy Trosh, Technical Director of The Mill, said: “The best telecine needs to have the best grain management system and, after extensive testing, we believe the AGR4 ME to be the best.”
The AGR4 ME is a film grain and electronic noise reducer aimed at film, videotape restoration and MPEG pre-processing. The AGR4 ME’s advanced motion processing and adaptive 3-D filters, including a new Edge Preserving Spatio-Temporal filter and optional motion estimation, allow facilities to produce cleaner and sharper pictures from film and video originated material than ever before. The AGR4 ME can be used in a vast range of applications, from reducing the intensity of film grain while preserving its structure to wiping out noise on video material.
