Plymouth Media Partnership to meet Channel 5 Commissioner
Plymouth Media Partnership (PM-P) members will avail of the chance to meet a television commissioner this month.
The organisation that represents Plymouth's screen-based industries has arranged a Channel 5 'Commissioner Briefing' featuring Kim Peat, Controller of Daytime, Arts and Religion.
PM-P's co-ordinator Karen Stockdale said: "Opportunities to meet buyers and gain market intelligence are just one of the ways in which PM-P can support local companies and help them to grow their businesses."
There will also be a rare opportunity for a limited number of one-to-one sessions for companies with a broadcast track record. The briefing will take place between 2.15pm and 4pm on Friday September 16. While, it is free to PM-P members but you must register for the event by calling 01752 346530 or email [email protected]
PM-P members recently enjoyed a networking event at the National Marine Aquarium in June, linking up with Creative Partnerships - the organisation that works to inject creativity into school curricula by partnering with artists and practitioners.
The event was useful from PM-P's point of view, because the work of Creative Partnerships was explained to members who might like to become some of those partners.
Stockdale said: "A number of PM-P members are already working with Creative Partnerships and this event was a great way to encourage other businesses to get involved with young people."
PM-P worked with Creative Partnerships and local schools on media showcase Screen 2004, and hope to do the same again at Screen 2006.
In August, PM-P members met Channel 4 Deputy Controller of Daytime, Mark Downie.
PM-P has other workshops and sessions planned throughout the rest of the year, and the organisation will take part in National Enterprise Week from 14-19 November this year.
PM-P is supported by the South West Regional Development Agency through South West Screen and Plymouth City Council.
Visit www.pm-p.com for further information.
