QUADRILLE INCREASES DVD CAPACITY

IN RESPONSE to the massive demand for DVD authoring in Scotland and the North of England, Quadrille have decided to increase their MPEG Encoding capacity by adding yet another encoder.
The new MINERVA PUBLISHER 300 serial digital encoding station, purchased from IST in London has been acquired specifically for the DVD retail market. This will allow Quadrille to have dedicated encoding stations to service the corporate and retail markets quickly and effectively. Corporate clients are taking up more and more time on the encoders so the company have decided to invest in dedicated solutions for both markets. This brings our total compliment of encoders to four.
Authoring DVDs for the retail markets is steadily increasing as authoring and replication prices start to fall and Quadrille anticipate twice the volume in 2001.
Enhanced DVDs are becoming very popular and Quadrille plan to invest in the new year in a software kit allowing web, multimedia and database content to be integrated into the DVD interface when used with a PC. This will open up massive possibilities allowing DVD to be used in applications never thought possible before.
With VHS duplication and standards conversion still on the increase despite the emergence of DVD Quadrille have decided to increase manufacturing capacity by 30 per cent, keeping the company at the forefront of the market place in Scotland.
