QUADRILLE JOIN IN DVD RUSH AT CANNES

THE Cannes Film Festival provided an opportunity for Quadrille in Edinburgh to display their wares to the film community at large.
Managing Director Jeff Whitecross spent the last week in Cannes with Scottish Film Makers discussing new DVD Projects. ‘Love The One You’re With’, premiered in Cannes, was recently authored by Quadrille to DVD, to coincide with the film release on video. Jeff explains: “As European consumer sales of DVD increase at an alarming rate, Scottish film production companies see the value of releasing their films on DVD as well as traditional VHS. DVD manufacturing costs have stabilised at a level low enough to allow production companies other than the ‘majors’ to enter the market.”
Several projects have been outlined for completion this year, showcasing Scottish Talent.
Other DVD credits this month include Motorola, The Museum of Modern Art, four DVD’s for Almond Valley Heritage Trust and three DVD’s for Edinburgh Crystal Visitor Centre, produced by Sheena Irving, AV Productions.
On the VHS front, a major project is underway for the New Student Year in Scotland involving 13 universities. 26 half-hour videos, totalling around 100,000 units, will be completed over the next two months for distribution to freshers and undergraduates throughout Scotland.
