Cintel to launch diTTo at IBC

In recognition of the ever changing postproduction market and the need for new, more powerful, efficient, cost effective workflows, Cintel will be focusing entirely on Digital Intermediate technology on its stand 1.411 at IBC this year.
To ensure the needs of the digital intermediate environment are met Cintel will be launching their new, simple, yet powerful film scanner – ‘diTTo’ first seen in prototype mode at this years NAB to great acclaim.
‘diTTo’, a Super 2K & 4K data centric scanning system, has been developed specifically for high quality efficient film scanning and will be shown by private appointment only. The versatility of diTTo means it is suited for all applications from high end DI and special effects through to archiving and restoration. With the data market demanding both quality and speed without being cost prohibitive diTTo represents the next generation data scanning solution. diTTo uses cutting edge digital film acquisition technology to ensure the highest image quality and repeatability. diTTo utilises a three colour light source and solid state low noise detection device to produce high resolution, repeatable results. diTTo incorporates a PC GUI to make the management of the scanning process and the delivery of the image files a straightforward process.
diTTo has been developed by the design team researching a scanning solution to compliment the existing CRT based product range”.
dataMill, to be shown working in conjunction with Nucoda’s Film Master, offers high speed data scanning at the touch of a button; dataMill is a calibrated 2 and 4k data transfer engine at speeds of up to 15 fps. dataMill can also be configured to provide real time SD or HD 10 bit log outputs, essentially SD and HD data in a video wrapper, ideal for high speed DI processing. dataMill will also feature the Millennium II upgrade, allowing it to be switched effortlessly into creative ‘datacine’ mode.
In addition to film scanning solutions, Cintel will be showing their image processing platform imageMill, designed to run a series of image enhancement applications enabling a flexible, modular approach to the differing workflow and environments adopted in post production. The first of these applications is Grace, a grain reduction tool, previously only seen as an internal device inside the DSX film scanner.
Grace is a true, multi-standard grain reduction tool, enabling users to get the best from their images by providing any degree of grain removal to acquire the desired look. Grace’s flexibility enables it to work at resolutions from SD through HD to 2K and 4K data, regardless of film gauge and image format, running tape-to-tape or disc-to-disc.
