CELTIC FESTIVAL RELEASE COMPETITION SHORTLIST
THE Celtic Film and Television Festival (CFTF), which will run from March 28 to 31, have announced this year’s competition shortlist for the Festival in Truro, Cornwall 2001.
The Festival was inundated with over 400 entries from across all the Celtic countries and beyond.
From animation to young people’s programmes, the competition features some of the most diverse, entertaining and thought provoking work from the last year.
Shortlisted entries include ‘Nora’, starring Ewan McGregor, award winning Scottish dramas ‘One Life Stand’ and ‘Who’s My Favourite Girl’, to ‘Chosen People’, a documentary that revisits families throughout the world who took part in a unique post war photojournalism project.
All work entered will also be included in the Celtic Market section of the Festival and will be available for all Festival delegates to view.
The Celtic Film and Television Festival celebrates the best film, video, radio and new media from across the Celtic countries, entries are submitted from broadcast and independent film, television, radio and new media markers.
In competition, 15 screen entries are shortlisted from Ireland, Scotland, Wales and Brittany with seven from Cornwall.
The final competition winners will be announced at the Festival. See www.celticfilm.co.uk for further details. (CD)
