TMR returns to the post-punk era

TMR, part of VTR Media Services, announced that one of its latest DVD restoration projects, 'Rough Cut & Ready Dubbed', was screened at the Glastonbury Festival last weekend.
Rough Cut & Ready Dubbed is a classic movie which uncovers the looks, the poses, the rucks and the riots of the post-punk period between 1978 and 1981. Originally shot on Super 8 and blown up to 16mm, the film has been brought back to life in a joint project by Hasan Shah Films and Anonymous Films. The duo worked closely with TMR, Mick Glossop, Mayflower Studios and Goldcrest, to restore the picture and sound quality of the 1982 classic.
TMR cleaned the negative in its film treatment centre and then transferred and graded the material to HD D5. TMR then took on the intricate task of removing any dirt and scratches, utilising the Teranex and MTI kit in its digital restoration suite. The film’s audio was then restored by record producer Mick Glossop. Following this, the film went to Mayflower Studios where additional audio work was carried out, before it received a final mix at Goldcrest.
“We’re delighted with the end result. The restoration of the picture and audio is amazing. It’s really brought the film back to life!” said Hasan Shah, co- producer/co-director at Hasan Shah Films. “It’s great that the film was shown at Glastonbury where such a large number of fans, old and new, were able to re-live the post-punk era.”
Rough Cut & Ready Dubbed will be released on DVD throughout Europe from July 2005.
