TMR joins Richard E. Grant in Swaziland
Restoration specialist TMR, part of the VTR Media Services group, has completed HD telecine grading on Richard E. Grant’s film “Wah-Wah”.
“Wah-Wah” takes Grant back to his Swaziland roots in South-East Africa and is the first film to be written and directed by the man himself.
Set in the 1960s, the film will provide viewers with an insight into colonial life in Swaziland. In addition to Grant, the comedy drama stars Olivia Grant – Richard’s daughter – as well as Gabriel Byrne, Miranda Richardson, Julie Walters and Emily Watson.
Grant awarded TMR the task of ensuring that the distinctive African feel given to the cinema version of the film continued through to the deliverables. The process involved TMR carrying out HD telecine grading from 35mm IP to HD D5. TMR also provided extensive restoration services to make sure that the film was of the highest possible quality.
“Wah-Wah” will be distributed throughout the world on DVD and VHS towards the end of 2005.
