GAELIC PROGRAMMES AT CELTIC FESTIVAL

SIX Gaelic television programmes, all funded by Comataidh Craolaidh Gaidhlig, have been shortlisted for the Celtic Film and Television Festival, which is to be held in Truro, Cornwall, from March 28 to 31.
The Gaelic categories are: ‘Eorpa’, Current Affairs, and ‘De a-nis?’, Young People, both produced by BBC Scotland; ‘The Green Man of Knowledge’, Animation, produced by Red Kite Productions; ‘Creachadh na Clarsaich’,Arts Documentary, produced by Eolas Productions and ‘Murchadh MacPharlain’, Arts Documentary, produced by Metagama Productions.
CCG Chairman, Matthew MacIver, said: “Comataidh Craolaidh Gaidhlig is committed to funding a range of quality programmes. We are delighted that the national jury have selected these programmes as examples of excellence, and we congratulate the creative items that prepared and produced them.”
The Celtic Film and Television Association is an organisation of filmmakers and broadcasters working in Brittany, Cornwall, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. It was established in 1981 at the second Celtic Film Festival in Harlech, Wales, to co-ordinate the organisation of an annual festival to promote film and programme making in the Celtic countries and regions.
