Blue does full service post on 'The Strangest Village in Britain'

Full-service broadcast facility blue has completed the post production for 'The Strangest Village in Britain', a new documentary for Channel 4.
The 60-minute film will air at 9pm on Thursday June 16. Produced by Landmark Films, the programme is set in Botton, a small village tucked away high on the North Yorkshire Moors. It documents a social experiment where 136 villagers with learning difficulties live in a community with 100 co-workers.
The moving, tender and sometimes funny film charts the day-to-day life of this remarkable place and the people who live there. The programme follows long-term resident Barry as he decides to leave the community and re-enter the ‘real world’.
The post production carried out by blue included colour grading, online editing and audio work. The online was carried out by Bill Ogden and the audio post was completed by blue’s dubbing mixer Matt Skilton on ProTools. Colourist Jonathan Lieb graded the programme.
“Botton’s typical of the Yorkshire Moors, very desolate in places, so we included sound effects to enhance that, such as birds, insects and the wind,” said Skilton. “Aside from those nuances this programme was all about the dialogue, with minimal voiceover narrated by Nick O’Dwyer to help direct the audience.”
Nick O’Dwyer, Director, Landmark Films, said: “This is the latest in a series of projects that we have worked on with blue. Not only do they dedicate 100 percent to our jobs but their people are fantastic to work with too.”
