FOYLE FILM FESTIVAL PROGRAMME ANNOUNCED

THE 13th Budweiser Foyle Film Festival, which will run from November 10 to 19, have announced a programme packed with premieres, shorts, classics, cultural cinema, masterclasses, industry focused workshops, special presentations and a competition section.
The themes of ‘Love and War’ form the classic and cultural strands of the programme as well as the educational workshops and film related activities.
A total of 150 films will be screened over the ten day duration culminating in the presentation of the specially designed Tyrone Crystal Light Motion Awards for the best films on the closing night.
Guests representing the film industry will include: Ivor Middleton, Mill Film’s Sequence Supervisor on 'Gladiator'; and Stefan Fangmeler, Industrial Light and Magic’s Effects Supervisor on ‘The Perfect Storm’. Director of Photography, Seamus McGarvey will hold a cinematography masterclass and Film Director Thaddeus O’Sullivan will hold a director’s Q&A seesion. BAFTA nominated Billy O’Brien will present an animation workshop and NESTA recipient and award winning animator John McCloskey will hold a computer animation workshop.
BBC Northern Ireland will host a number of events for writers and filmmakers during the Foyle Film Festival in both Derry and Belfast with writers including Colin Bateman, Kieran Prendiville, Ronan Bennett and BBC Northern Ireland’s Head of Drama Robert Cooper.
