First Film Foundation run screenwriting programme for second year
First Development, a screenwriting programme that selects new screenwriters and screenwriter/producing teams from throughout the UK and develops their projects and craft skills, is to be re-run this year.
On completion of the workshops, the First Film Foundation will showcase writers and their work to industry development executives. First Development offers participants development support over a six-month period. This year First Film are particularly interested in receiving applications from writer / producer teams. They would also like to encourage people to apply with new ideas they wish to develop through the programme. The workshopping process works best when projects are at a relatively early stage and the organisers do not recommend that people apply with projects they have been developing for a long time.
Jonathan Rawlinson, Director of First Film Foundation, said: "First Development offers an unrivalled opportunity for filmmakers to receive training and learn tools which they can apply to their screen writing, and script development work throughout their careers."
