Alias appoints Animazoo as UK channels partner

Alias has appointed leading motion capture manufacturer, distributor and systems integrator Animazoo as a UK channels partner for its Alias MotionBuilder family of character performance and animation software.
The appointment will make Alias MotionBuilder and MotionBuilder Pro more easily accessible to the film, broadcast, academic, corporate and scientific markets.
Animazoo manufactures the renowned Gypsy motion capture systems. Based in Brighton, with an international network of dealers and distributors to match its UK presence, Animazoo has more than a decade of experience working in creative, academic and corporate markets. The company’s client list includes game developers Magenta and Kuju Entertainment, broadcasters such as the BBC, some of the world’s most prestigious universities including Warwick, Glasgow Caledonian, Teesside, Yale and MIT, as well as car manufacturers Suzuki and the Toyota Industrial Corporation.
Alias MotionBuilder and MotionBuilder Pro are the pre-eminent character performance and animation packages for animators and animation directors. Available for Microsoft Windows XP Professional and Apple Mac OSX operating systems, they enable 3D animators to quickly generate high-quality character performances and animation. The Alias MotionBuilder platform-independent, 3D authoring and interchange format, FBX, enables Alias MotionBuilder to work seamlessly with Alias Maya and other 3D software packages.
“Working with experienced, knowledgeable and customer-focussed partners like Animazoo is fundamental as Alias drives the art of 3D animation forwards,” said Mark Pammenter, Director of Entertainment EMEA at Alias. “Our new partnership with them will open up new creative opportunities for animators in many different industries across the UK.”
Ali Kord, Managing Director of Animazoo UK Ltd, said: “As a respected manufacturer of Gypsy motion capture systems, with years of experience in animation, we recognise the important role that Alias plays in our industry.
“We look forward to partnering Alias as they expand their product line, and becoming the foremost resource for character animators.”
