Alias embark on major European showcase tour
Alias, the leading innovator of 3D graphics technology, is embarking on a major tour of key European cities to showcase the latest releases of its award-winning entertainment software, Maya 7 and Alias MotionBuilder 7, announced last month at SIGGRAPH.
The Maya and Alias MotionBuilder EMEA Roadshow, a series of launch events in a total of 37 cities over the course of three months, will commence in Rome on 13 September, with a pit stop in London on 14 September en route to various locations ranging from Stockholm, Milan and Lisbon to Belfast, Edinburgh and Leeds.
Long-time Alias user Raul Essig, Technical Director at Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) - regarded as one of the world’s premier visual effects facilities - will be making a special guest appearance at events in London, Rome, Paris and Berlin. He will be speaking about the making of his latest projects ‘War of the Worlds and Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith’. He will also share his expertise in particle systems, where he creates simulations to emulate natural dynamics such as fire, smoke, tornadoes and sandstorms. Commenting on the forthcoming tour Mark Pammenter, Director of Entertainment Products EMEA, Alias said: “The Maya 7 and Alias MotionBuilder 7 EMEA Roadshow is an exciting opportunity for Alias to engage with its customers in all the main entertainment hubs across Europe. For many, this will be their first chance to experience the new versions of Maya and MotionBuilder, and see how we are making 3D character animation easier and more accurate than ever before.”
