BBC MAKE KEY COMMUNICATION APPOINTMENTS

THE BBC Communications department have announced the appointment of several key positions to their in-house publicity department.
Under the ‘One BBC’ plan announced by Greg Dyke, all of the BBC’s communications activities were pulled together under a single operation headed by Sally Osman as Head of Communications.
Osman has grouped the department around three core functions - publicity, news management and public relations. Vanda Rumney heads the Publicity team, Donald Steel is the Head of Press and Andrew Whyte is Head of PR and Strategic Communications.
Rumney said: “We have made a number of significant appointments which will help us to deliver an ambitious but targeted integrated promotions plan for each of the BBC’s public service channels and services, to drive appreciation and consumption of the BBC across the UK.” (AMcE)
