FRAMESTORE TUNE IN TO XFM COMMERCIAL

FRAMESTORE’S latest commercial for XFM currently being screened, is designed to make people aware that although the music may not be soft, the station is not intimidating.
Working with production company Quiet Storm, director Trevor Robinson was insistent that the radio had to have warmth and a personality and decided the best way to achieve this was to incorporate a live action performance of a radio and it’s subsequent reaction from the general public. Reactions vary from horror and shock at seeing and hearing this dancing radio to absolute mirth and enjoyment.
This provided the challenge of finding a ten-inch high actor who could fit the suit. Producer, Peter Muggleston called in the services of FrameStore and discussed the ways in which the problem could be solved through compositing. For all concerned the credibility of the character was paramount and this meant that the radio had to interact with its environment which in turn provided its own challenge for Framestore Henry operator, Nick Bennett and Inferno operator, Hani Al-Yousif.
Dave Ludlam’s spirit grade achieved a unique look for each scenario whilst maintaining an overall style set by Director Trevor Robinson.
