Steve Norris Appointed As Managing Director Of Framestore

Framestore has announced the appointment of Steve Norris as Managing Director of its film interests.
Norris joins Framestore from his current position as British Film Commissioner with the UK Film Council, a position he has held for nine years.
As Commissioner, Norris has had responsibility for all international production that has used the UK, a total of some US$6 billion since his appointment in 1997. Films that he has brought into the UK include the 'Harry Potter' series, 'The Da Vinci Code', 'The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy' and 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'.
Framestore is one of the world’s leading visual effects companies, and has won many international awards for its ground breaking work on projects such as the Harry Potter series and 'Walking with Dinosaurs'. Recent credits include such diverse projects as 'Superman Returns', 'X-Men: The Last Stand', 'The Constant Gardener' and 'The Queen'.
William Sargent, Framestore’s Chief Executive Officer, commented: “The appointment of Steve Norris is a major coup for our company and his reputation amongst leading film makers throughout the world, and particularly in the USA, will greatly enhance our ability to achieve our long-term ambitions in the global film industry.”
Of his decision to move, Norris commented: “This is a time of fast and exciting development in the film industry and Framestore is the perfect place from which to exploit this new world.”
Norris will take up his position at Framestore in November 2006.
