OXTEL INSTALL MEDIASET MASTER CONTROL SYSTEMS

OXFORDSHIRE based company Oxtel have installed four of their Presmaster master control switcher systems for Mediaset, the Italian national terrestrial broadcaster, based in Milan.
Oxtel's Presmaster system can control up to 200 transmission channels, and it offers a powerful digital audio mixing and storage capability, including multi-group audio mixing for multi-lingual and multi-channel surround sound broadcasting.
Presmaster is based on Oxtel’s successful Imagestore automated master control and channel branding system, with all the video and audio processing performed by the Imagestores.
The Mediaset system is characterised by a very powerful channel branding capability, with the Presmaster switchers each providing four independent layers of animation, still or clock insertion, via two Imagestores in series per channel. The Presmaster system provides a full preview of the mixer and keying layers, with the ability to preview four animated keying layers simultaneously, whilst four keying layers are on-air. This sophisticated graphics capability is required by Mediaset for inserting programme and station logos, advertising imagery, and programme category information with associated audio warnings. (GB)
