S4C ANNOUNCE INCREASED PROGRAMME OUTPUT

FROM April 1 2001, S4C increased the number of hours broadcast per day to 23hours - an extra three hours of programming every day.
The analogue service usually closed down around 2am each night (Monday-Thursday), but it now runs until 5am.
The increased broadcasting hours allow S4C to provide more of Channel 4's output than ever before - with the emphasis on more films and football.
S4C have also announced that TEC South East Wales awarded the first prize for ‘Outstanding Practice’ to S4C in the category for businesses employing 50 or more people.
Huw Jones, S4C's Chief Executive, said: "Working towards the ‘Investors in People Award’ required a very considerable effort on the part of everyone in S4C. I believe it has led to a better use of people's time and talents within the organisation which in turn enables us to provide a better service. We were delighted to have this commitment recognised in the form of the Investors in People TEC South East Wales Award for Outstanding Practice." (CD)
