DTS UNVEIL NEW SUBTITLING SYSTEM

DTS, one of the leaders in digital audio for cinema, pro-audio, consumer products and broadcasting, have unveiled the new DTS-CSS Cinema Subtitling System.
The new DTS-CSS Cinema Subtitling System is an innovative product that projects subtitles directly onto the screen instead of etching or over-laying them onto the film itself.
Essentially, this means that a single inventory of prints can be easily used along with appropriate DTS disc to provide a foreign language audio track, subtitling, or captioning information to project on the screen. DTS discs can hold up to 40 languages to facilitate different subtitles for different shows. For distributors, this means a single-print solution that virtually eliminates the need to produce, distribute, store record and junk additional print inventories. For exhibitors it means more flexibility in programming films to meet customer demand and maximise revenues.

DTS Digital Sound is currently installed on more than 20,000 cinema screens worldwide and more than 1500 films and attractions have been released in the DTS format to date. (CD)
