UK Atomic Energy Authority selects Convera
Convera, a leading provider of search and categorisation software for enterprises and government agencies, has announced that the UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) has selected Convera's RetrievalWare 8.0 search platform to improve the performance of its Intranet.
As an early adopter of Intranet technology, the UKAEA introduced a basic platform eight years ago. The Intranet, which is used as an enterprise-wide information repository, has since grown to contain 50,000 pages of unstructured data. The UKAEA chose Convera RetrievalWare to increase the uptake of the system by empowering its 3,500 employees with the ability to 'drill down' into the content and uncover specific information in context to their original requests.
"The new search engine works well. I'm now able to retrieve the information required quickly and efficiently," said Morris MacLeod, Environmental Support Officer, UKAEA. "It's a definite improvement on our previous system and I've been encouraging my colleagues to use it. They similarly have enjoyed the benefits the tool provides."
