CONVERA AND PORTALNATION ANNOUNCE AGREEMENT

CONVERA, providers of advanced technologies, products and solutions for unlocking the value in digital content, and portalNATION Digital Media, have announced a strategic technology licensing agreement.
According to the terms of the agreement, portalNATION, providers of advanced broadcast internet technology, will integrate Convera’s Screening Room, an award-winning solution for capturing, searching, viewing, editing, and publishing video content, into portalNATION's technology offering.
By incorporating Screening Room's video content management tools, portalNATION will enable their customers to capture, encode, index, manage and re-purpose their corporate video content as part of portalNATION's syndication and distribution service.

Within two years, consumers will comparison shop using streaming video, they will see product informational videos on their wireless devices, and every product will have a video information centre.”
Convera’s Screening Room provides scalable, high-performance access to any video asset from an ordinary Web browser. With Screening Room, users can automatically capture video; browse visual summaries catalogue content using metadata, annotations, closed caption text, and voice sound tracks; search for precise video clips using text and image clues; and create rough cuts and ‘Edit Decision Lists’ for further production.
