Convera and T-Systems launch online film distribution platform

T-Systems and Marco Polo Archive have announced the launch of FootageBox, an Internet platform that enables people involved in the media industry to search film archives, view materials online, and order and obtain footage electronically.
FootageBox is the first worldwide archive to store video materials for direct access and allows owners of archived film and video to market their films over the Internet.
Marco Polo Archive are the first company to use the FootageBox platform to market their source archive of more than 3,000 hours of nature films and documentaries to the media community.
Ultimately FootageBox should create additional revenue streams for both small and large players in the media industry by providing access to 'hidden treasures' that would otherwise be unavailable to a large number of interested parties.
