Alias '3December' event to be hosted in 25 cities worldwide
Alias has announced that its 6th annual industry event, 3December, will be held in 25 cities worldwide.
3December is a free global celebration of the 3D computer graphics and industrial design industries, sponsored this year by Intel and IBM.
Tokyo, Seoul, Shanghai and Bangkok are among the first to begin celebrations, followed by Paris, London, New York and Los Angeles. Events will also take place in many other major North American cities.
“Intel is thrilled to again be a global sponsor in Alias’ 3December event,” said Intel Corporation's Melissa Laird. “The work that is being generated by artists in the digital content creation space continues to marvel the end-user community. Intel remains committed to delivering a family of platforms that will showcase your talents and provide the reliability, scalability, security and performance that artists have come to expect from an industry leader.”
Michel Duponchel of IBM said: “IBM's Digital Media solutions are being used by 3D professionals the world over. IBM is delighted to be associated with this event which is bringing together the architects of the future of on-line games and animation, making IBM expertise and technology available to the new generation of creation.”
Alias MasterClasses will be offered at the New York, Paris, London, and Tokyo venues. In London 3D enthusiasts will have the opportunity to learn time-saving techniques from talented CG stars such as Matt Herzog and Michal Jelinek on topics like Maya Fur & Mental Ray and Creative Sketching Techniques. Moreover, Chris Landreth will be presenting on the making of Ryan.
Masterclasses start at 12-noon for intermediate to advanced users, and will focus on specific skill sets so that students can walk away with expert knowledge they can put to use immediately.
3D December London will take place at: Canvas, Kings Cross Freight Yard, York Way London, N1 0UZ.
