RTÉ Television appoints Commissioning Editor for Sport
RTÉ Television has named Ryle Nugent as its new Commissioning Editor for Sport.
Currently Executive Editor for Rugby, Nugent has 10 years experience in television sports broadcasting for RTÉ.
Glen Killane, RTÉ Head of Television Sport, said: "Ryle is a young, talented sports broadcaster and editor who has an intuitive feel for sport and possesses the skills, experience and vision to make this role his own. We have seen Ryle’s ability to take responsibility for some of our biggest broadcasting events and his high-level experience across a wide range of sports, as well as the potential he has to considerably develop our sports programming.
Nugent added: "I'm delighted to have been offered this position and I'm very much looking forward to the challenge I know the role presents, as well as continuing to work with my colleagues in RTÉ Sport for the future success of the department.”
Nugent will also continue in his role as rugby commentator for RTÉ Sport.
