NEW FEATURES FOR OPTIMA EDIT TOOL

ORIGIN Systems have announced a new version of the Optima offline editing system for programme makers.
Renowned as a robust and easy to learn system, Optima is the most appropriate way for many producers and directors to work.
Designed as a complete hardware/software package, Optima is not prone to the type of errors and corruption common with other systems. With significantly lower requirement for technical support and computer knowledge, many users find Optima the ideal system to have at home.
The most obvious visual change in version 3.6 is that the screen interface has been given a new look. The improved and refined icons and dialogue boxes should be of particular benefit to education and training applications and other new or infrequent Optima users.
A unique new feature is the multi-camera capability allowing the user to lock multiple player windows together, either by absolute timecode or by an arbitrary offset. This makes editing much easier when material has been shot with two or more cameras, or with one camera from several viewpoints.
There are many other new or improved features, including flood-fill editing which has always been a valuable and powerful tool, now enhanced with the ability to use clips which do not completely fill the destination. Particularly useful for viewing copies is the ability to output burnt-in source timecode and reel number.
