Florida broadcaster purchases On-Air automation solutions

On-Air Systems, leading developers of broadcast automation solutions, has announced that Orange TV in Florida, has purchased two On-Air Central end-to-end broadcast automation systems for installation in a new playout facility.
One system will be used to launch Vision TV, a brand new 24/7 arts infochannel covering a wide selection of programme types. Vision TV will begin broadcasting during November 2004 on cable and PBS and will also be streamed over the Internet.
The second system will replace an outdated video server used by the existing Orange TV channel.
“Having all of the playout processes together in one integrated environment provides a very streamlined and efficient workflow,” said Bill Suchy, Station Manager, Orange TV. “The two new On-Air Central systems enable us to deliver the same high quality signals and graphics as local network affiliates and national cable networks. On-Air Systems not only have an excellent product, they also deliver a first-class service.”
In total, Orange TV has purchased two media ingest software modules, two Studio playout management modules, an On-Air InfoChannel system with multi-graphics overlays and direct feed management software and several On-Air Systems’ media asset management and reporting modules. These will be integrated to form two complete all-digital broadcast solutions that will automate every process of the playout workflow from ingest to transmission.
Around 90% of Vision TV and Orange TV’s programming is produced in-house. Finished programs will be sent to the server from where they will be loaded automatically into On-Air Central ready for scheduling and playout.
