PESA routes OB truck and studio systems to Athens

PESA Switching Systems, a leading provider of analogue and digital video and audio equipment, has announced that a number of its routing switcher systems are in action at the 2004 Summer Games in Athens, operating in OB mobile trucks and studio installations for broadcasters from around the world.
PESA installations at the games include three trucks from host country Greece, one truck from Cinevideogroep of the Netherlands, and a number of systems in trucks from TVE Televisio Espanyola of Spain. Additional systems are also being used by two Korean broadcasters operating out of the International Broadcast Center (IBC), Korea Broadcast Systems and Munhwa Broadcast Company (MBC); and by European Broadcast Union (EBU) Sports.
Greece's Outdoor Broadcast Solutions, based in Thessaloniki, is providing coverage of soccer matches at Kaftantzoglio Stadium in Thessaloniki. Their Mobile Production Unit 1, an ‘expandable’ trailer with front and back decks and entryways, includes features such as a 35-monitor wall, a production front desk with full SDI switching and extensive keying and layering capabilities, an all SDI vision mix area, a slo-mo area, and 20 SDI cameras. At the heart of the truck, in the engineering area, are PESA Jaguar and Cougar SDI and stereo audio routers, with 3500PRO-LE system control software and 20 programmable XY and multi-bus control panels.
