Pinnacle Systems expand range of disc burning solutions

Pinnacle Systems have announced the launch of a new range of disc creation solutions.
The new products have been developed as a result of Pinnacle’s acquisition of VOB Computersysteme in October of last year and first to be announced is InstantCopy®, a personal CD and DVD duplication application that provides faster, better quality duplication of DVDs than other applications currently available on the market. InstantCopy will be followed by the launch of InstantCD/DVD™, a complete suite of disc creation tools, by the spring of 2003.
The CD/DVD duplication software in InstantCopy employs a unique technology to fit a 9GB DVD movie on a 4.7GB recordable DVD disc. In addition to offering faster, higher quality copying of DVDs, Instant Copy also provides real 1:1 copying of DVD movies, including all menus, features, languages, audio tracks and bonus materials. InstantCopy, which can only be used to copy data, audio and video CDs and DVDs which are NOT copy-protected will be available for consumers to buy from mid February for only £29.99 inc VAT. It is ideal for consumers who want to backup data, audio and video content they own onto CDs and DVDs.
The first Pinnacle Systems disc burning solution to hit the market was Expression, easy to use software for sharing photos and home movies on CDs and DVDs. Expression enables the user to capture, edit and compile photos and movies. It also makes it easy to author discs that can be viewed on a domestic DVD player.
Rounding out the offer of disc creation solutions, Pinnacle will introduce InstantCD/DVD by the early spring of 2003.
The suite will enable the user to create, burn and copy any kind of CD or DVD media, making it the ideal solution for today’s most popular and emerging disc creation activities.
These include compiling MP3 and creating audio CDs, authoring and burning DVD content, backing up data, and duplicating CDs and DVDs.
