Sonic’s AuthorScript DVD Technology licensed for Sony VAIO PCs

Sonic Solutions have announced that computer home electronics giant Sony has licensed Sonic’s AuthorScript to power its Click to DVD software included in new models of Sony VAIO desktop computers.
Sonic AuthorScript allows Sony to provide VAIO users with a complete solution for burning video or TV programs recorded with a VCR, camcorder, or Sony Giga Pocket to DVD.
Using Sonic AuthorScript DVD burning and formatting technology, Sony’s Click to DVD software lets VAIO users quickly and easily convert a video or TV program recorded with a VCR, camcorder, or Giga Pocket into a legal DVD format and burn it to DVD. Users can also select a favorite background, edit video and convert still images to slideshows. AuthorScript allows Sony to incorporate advanced features including chapter settings, customized video modes, and aspect ratio controls, while offering support for a large variety of file formats such as DV-AVI, MPEG-1 MPEG-2, BMP, JPEG and TIFF.
