A Look Into AIMS Member Kiosks At ISE 2025

News Image
The Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS) will offer ISE 2025 attendees an intimate look into the global broadcast and Pro AV market's increasing adoption of Internet Protocol Media Experience (IPMX™) — a set of open standards-based protocols designed to ensure interoperability for AV-over-IP systems — in several AIMS member kiosks in booth 5F600.

Partners include Cobalt Digital, Macnica, intoPIX, Meinberg, Nextera, and PlexusAV. The kiosks are a first for AIMS at the show, with the member companies hosting demonstrations of IPMX-based systems. This will include a wide range of scenarios, including the interoperability of the IPMX standard with ST-2110, AES67, JPEG XS, Dante, and more.

Highlights from each kiosk will include:

Cobalt Digital will be demonstrating its renowned openGear-based processing cards with an end-to-end, low-latency, fully compliant IPMX solution with HDMI devices using JPEG-XS compression to provide close to lossless quality with reasonable bit rates.

intoPIX will presents its new 100% low-latency software apps for IPMX and ST 2110. The software streams from presentation PCs to IPMX networks for displays and live production and receives streams for viewing or use in applications.

Macnica will demonstrate how they are driving the adoption of IPMX and SMPTE ST 2110 with innovative solutions like their versatile SDK designed to support seamless media transport and control.

Meinberg will have an 18RU rack for a live demonstration of validated ST-2110 devices with their PTP Grandmasters. The demonstration will show the behaviour of ST-2110 devices and the displayed content when PTP is enabled and disabled.

Nextera Video and Adeas will showcase their industry-leading IPMX/ST 2110/ST 2059 FPGA IP cores and NMOS control software. The Nextera-Adeas cores support any resolution/frame rate/network speed and are fully modular by design.

PlexusAV will demonstrate its human-centreed ecosystem of versatile, interoperable products designed to eliminate the complexities of AV integration, built on the IPMX standard.

Created by AIMS in collaboration with VSF and AMWA, IPMX implements a standards-based approach based on SMPTE ST 2110, with features and capabilities that target the specific needs of the broadcast and Pro AV industries. In addition to simplifying the implementation of SMPTE ST 2110 and ensuring interoperability for AV-over-IP systems, IPMX incorporates core features tailored to Pro AV installations. These features include asynchronous audio and video support — suitable for both live production and Pro AV presentations — 4K60 transmission over a single gigabit network, and HDCP for content security. IPMX also includes a control layer provided by AMWA’s NMOS specifications, which enhances device interoperability and eases the dependency on a myriad of proprietary control system protocols.
