AIMS To Host Live Interoperability Demonstration Of IPMX™
The Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS) is host a live interoperability demonstration of Internet Protocol Media Experience (IPMX™) — a set of open standard-based protocols designed to ensure interoperability for AV-over-IP systems in the media, entertainment, and Pro AV industries — at InfoComm 2023, June 14-16 in Orlando, Florida.
In booth 4181, AIMS will also be highlighting and discussing the recently released, initial drafts of the Video Services Forum's (VSF) TR-10 suite of Technical Recommendations for IPMX.
IPMX implements a standards-based approach based on SMPTE ST 2110 with features and capabilities that target the specific needs of the Pro AV industry. In addition to simplifying implementation of SMPTE ST 2110 and ensuring interoperability for AV-over-IP systems, IPMX incorporates other features tailored to Pro AV installations. These features include AMWA NMOS IS-04 and IS-05 for discovery, registration, and connection management, as well as specifications for copy protection and security.
In addition to interoperability demonstrations hosted in the AIMS booth, AIMS will be offering presentations on AV-over-IP and IPMX in a mini-theatre and will be providing information on live equipment demonstrations taking place in other booths across the InfoComm show floor.
"IPMX has made great strides over the last year in terms of multivendor interoperability. Not only will AIMS be highlighting its capabilities at InfoComm 2023, but many of our members will be providing their own demonstrations of a wide range of IPMX-ready products while also giving presentations on a variety of IPMX-related topics," said Samuel Recine, chair of the Pro AV Working Group at AIMS. "Another important milestone for IPMX in the last year was the release of VSF's TR-10 drafts. Many manufacturers have already made implementations based on these documents, and we're excited to discuss them with visitors to our booth."
