Hearst Networks UK Launches New Short Form Series

News Image
Hearst Networks UK has launched a hard-hitting new short-form series produced by Red Sauce aimed at raising awareness of some of the very worst abuses endured by women and men.

A bold, compelling, and revelatory film and audio podcast series, Unbreakable is hosted by Nina Aouilk, a life coach, and herself, a survivor of a childhood marked by extreme abuse.

Sam Pearson, Head of Short Form Commissioning at Hearst Networks UK, said: "Unbreakable is challenging but important viewing, based on honest personal testimony unflinchingly told. At Crime+Investigation® we believe it is essential to allow survivors to feel heard and seen, giving them a platform to share their personal experiences in a way they feel most comfortable."

In each episode, Nina sits face-to-face with female and male survivors of violent crime and abuse, creating a safe space for them to share not only the pain of their experiences but also the incredible journeys they took to escape and the strength they found to speak out.

The emotional, frank, and often harrowing testimony explores experiences ranging from sex trafficking by organised criminal gangs, to domestic violence and female genital mutilation. Each story offers unparalleled insight into the path to such dark and desperate circumstances and the road to redemption.

Tom Edwards, Creative Director at Red Sauce, said: "It's an unbelievably powerful and insightful series of films, thanks to the commitment and compassion of Nina and the production team and the bravery of the contributors. I hope it reaches the broadest possible audience."

Nina Aoulik, Series Host, commented: "Sitting with survivors who have turned an unimaginable pain into purpose is both an honour and a blueprint for hope. By asking the questions others may not, I had hoped to inspire others to see that even in darkness, there's a path to light."

The series has six episodes.
