Avid to work with first European HD channel to drive HDTV

Euro1080, the first HDTV channel in Europe, has purchased an Avid DS Nitris system, three Avid Media Composer Adrenaline systems and an Avid Unity LANshare EX shared storage solution to produce its in-house HD productions.
The Avid DS Nitris system will be used primarily to create HD promos and to finish documentaries such as the Capitals of Europe strand, while the Media Composer Adrenaline systems and the LANshare EX system are being used to provide syndicated coverage of the European leg of the 2004 Formula One Grand Prix. The company, whose main channel is soon to be called HD1, plans to upgrade the Media Composer Adrenaline systems with HD capabilities next year.
