St. Anne’s Post grades BBC’s ‘World Weddings’

St. Anne’s Post has recently completed post on ‘World Weddings’ for the BBC, a series of five factual programmes looking at marriage in countries such as Iran, Romania, South Africa, India, Russia and the US.
The series has been produced by Sam Bagnall, edited by Karen O’Connor and began on Wednesday May 19 on BBC 2.
The first of the series looks at Ray Heim, a two-time American divorcee, who has decided, like an increasing number of American men, to find a Russian bride on the internet. The programme follows Ray’s struggle to obtain a visa for Natalia and the first few weeks of their relationship in the US, where the cracks soon begin to show.
“This was an interesting series to work on sound-wise,” said Sue Malpass, Dubbing Mixer at St. Anne’s Post. “Each programme in the series seeks to reflect the culture that it was involved with, using elements such as music to enhance the environment. Vocal translations are also used as well as subtitling, which allows the viewer to get close to the heart and spirit of the individual’s story.”
