Steve Nelson rejoins Telecast Fiber Systems

Telecast Fiber Systems has announced that Steve Nelson has rejoined the company in the role of Eastern US sales manager.
Nelson was a central figure in the Telecast engineering and sales teams from 1995 to 2003, and will return to oversee sales and manage the company's relationships with broadcast distributors and end users in the Eastern US region, as well as homeland security customers nationwide.
"We're pleased to have Steve return as part of our sales team," said Telecast Fiber Systems President Richard A. Cerny. "His technical expertise and knowledge from his years with CBS as well as his long history with Telecast will be invaluable assets as we continue to develop and promote fiber optic systems for the television broadcast, telecommunications, and high-end surveillance industries."
During his tenure with Telecast, Nelson was the recipient of three technical Emmy awards for his work on the design of fibre optic systems for coverage of ESPN's X-Games. Prior to joining Telecast in 1995, Nelson spent 22 years with the CBS News Washington Bureau as an engineering supervisor. In this position, he oversaw numerous technical aspects of the network's broadcast coverage, including supervision of the camera crews, editing facilities, and remote broadcast units deployed worldwide.
This included the first live network news broadcast via fibre optics of a Space Shuttle landing at Edwards Air Force Base in 1981.
