Megahertz wins BBC News contract

Cambridge based Megahertz Broadcast Systems has announced that it has successfully won the contract to design and integrate a new Digital Satellite Newsgathering Vehicle for BBC News.
This new contract follows the successful completion of a similar contract back in 2002 and again in February 2003.
Based on a 7.5 ton LWB Mercedes Vario the vehicle will provide rapid-response newsgathering (television, radio and on-line) with production facilities and satellite uplink.
The vehicle will be fitted with a 10kVA on-board generator, two air-conditioning units and a 12m pneumatic mast. The satellite system will be a Swe-dish 1.5m Ku-band antenna with HPA’s integrated into the pod on the roof of the vehicle.
Production facilities will include three fibre, three CCUs, vision and audio mixers, a 32 x 32 SDI and 64 x 32 audio router and a Trilogy talkback system.
Delivery of the vehicle is due in June 2004
