ART Orders Third Vehicle From Megahertz Broadcast Systems

Within months of placing its first order for two SNG vehicles, the Arab Radio and Television Corporation (ART) has returned to UK systems integration specialist Megahertz Broadcast Systems with an order for a third vehicle.
This vehicle will be identical to those already being built and will be equipped with an Advent NewsSwift 150cm satellite dish, two Xicom XTRD-400k HPA, Tandberg encoders/receivers and fibre links to and from external sources. Megahertz expects to deliver the first two SNG vehicles, which were ordered at IBC, to the Middle East by the end of the year. The third vehicle will be completed by next spring.
Mr. Hassan Merei, Director of Engineering for the Arab Radio and Television Corporation, said: "Having ordered two vehicles, we quickly realised that we needed an additional SNG to cope with our production demands. It made sense to return to Megahertz because of the existing relationship we have with the company. From the outset, Megahertz was awarded the project on technical merits, good engineering design and state of art equipment, as well as its ability to meet our timeframe for delivery."
Dave McArthur, Megahertz Director of International Sales, added: "We are delighted that ART has reinforced its trust in us by placing an order for a third SNG vehicle before we have even delivered the first two. We are on schedule to meet delivery dates for the original order and are confident that the third vehicle will also be completed in time to meet ART's deadlines."
Megahertz is well regarded throughout the Middle East thanks to the large number of prestigious projects it has handled for broadcasters such as Al Jazeera and Kuwait TV.
ART's new SNG vehicles will be based in Saudi Arabia and will be used on a roving basis to cover live sports events throughout the Middle East.
