PINNACLE STRENGTHEN POSITION IN THE MIDDLE EAST

PINNACLE Systems, producers of a range of digital and broadcast video tools, are strengthening their position in the Middle East as they add Saudi TV, VideoCairo SAT in Egypt and NEW TV of Lebanon to the list of broadcasters using Pinnacle equipment in the region.
All three stations have bought Deko character generators while NewTV also had a full Pinnacle line-up in place for their launch. All Pinnacle Dekos, the industry-standard character generators, have full Arabic support.
VideoCairo SAT are the third broadcasters in the Middle East, after Dubai Business Channel and Qatar TV, to acquire a DekoCast, the automated master control graphics system which was launched at NAB 2001. The order includes all the options - clips, cel animation player and bypass. It will be used for channel branding such as the display of news headlines, financial information, and weather updates. The decision to go with DekoCast was taken at IBC2001 after the Video Cairo’s Vice President, Nader Gohar had a full demonstration on the system.
NEW TV of Lebanon went on-air on NileSat and ArabSat satellites on October 4. The installed Pinnacle equipment included an FXDeko CG and a DVEXtreme DVE for the news, a Thunder still and clip broadcast server for on-air transmission of commercials and promotions, and Alladin and ReelTimeNITRO systems for editing.
Saudi TV have installed four Deko 500s in their regional TV stations around the kingdom in Jeddah, Mecca, Medinah and Dammam. This is added to the already installed two TypeDekos in Riyadh, where DVEXtreme 3D Digital Video Efffects and Lightning Still Store are already in use. (CD)
