Rotana TV choose Pinnacle Systems
Rotana TV, the leading Arabic music TV station in the Middle East, have chosen Pinnacle to implement a fully networked editing, live production, and playout solution at their facilities in Beirut and Cairo.
The solution will be fully integrated with the network infrastructure that Sony Middle East is deploying, in order to provide the technical backbone for the broadcaster. The value to Pinnacle Systems is in excess of $1 million.
The completely tapeless, server based solution uses four Pinnacle Systems MediaStream 900si-8 servers, fully integrated with Sony Petasite archive library under Harris Louth automation control. Pinnacle is also installing five Liquid blue broadcast non-linear editing suites, three in Beirut and two in Cairo, and equipping a live production studio in each city, with Pinnacle Systems FXDekoIIs, DekoCasts, and PDS6000i vision mixers.
The solution will be implemented using an open platform solution via the MXF data exchange standard using MPEG-2 50 Mb/s format.
The entire infrastructure is designed to communicate seamlessly with Rotana's existing studio facilities in Beirut and Cairo.
