Offline Central extends facility in Belfast

Belfast's post production sector has a new player in the shape of Offline Central.
Based in the University area of the city the company was originally set up by Gerard Brady in June 2003. Now the facility boasts two fully equipped Avid suites with 300Gb storage connected to a full range of VTRs including Digi-Beta, MPEG IMX, Beta-SX, Beta SP, and all DV formats including DVpro.
Brady, who has an extensive list of credits including the Ali G - Bling Bling video, Paul O'Grady's America and numerous BBC network and Channel Four documentaries, said: "Besides the leather sofas and cappuccino on tap, I hopes the relaxed and professional atmosphere will encourage greater creativity and help producers and directors feel they are in very good hands."
In 1996 he began working for Northern Ireland production companies, having spent 10 years in London where he edited Channel 4's ;'Without Walls' and 'Witness' documentaries as well as short dramas and features.
Brady said he felt that Belfast needed a fully equipped offline facility based in the city centre and within walking distance of the BBC and a number of other major production companies in the area.
Offline Central credits include Green Inc's 'Anderson In...' for BBC NI, Extreme Productions' 'Farwell to Mersey St' - a one hour film in the Bits of Belfast slot, the hidden camera show 'Just for Laughs' - a Wild Rover production for BBC network, 'Ulster Fly', a travel show from Brian Waddell productions and many other one-off docs and features for Channel 4 RTE and TG4.
