Eyeheight announce 'bugEyes' branding system
Eyeheight's new bugEyes system promises to dramatically reduces the complexity and cost of television channel branding.
Up to six bugEyes modules can be accommodated in a 1 U chassis, enabling a full-scale multichannel system to be created quickly and easily with practically unlimited expansion capability. The bugEyes user interface allows still and animated programme channel idents to be prepared rapidly from industry-standard TARGA files. Up to 100 channels can be managed from a local or remote PC or under the control of broadcast station automation.
Each bugEyes module incorporates non-volatile RAM storage, sufficient for up to 64 logos. These can be assigned individually or as sequences of full 10-bit animated cells. Integral features include keying, programme fade and multiple time-lapse play modes. Logo import and management can be controlled from the chassis front-panel or remotely. A capture input enables animated logos to be acquired in real time. Logo management operations can be performed on a capture/edit/preview output independently of the main transmission feed.
Animations can be played forwards, backwards, looped, bounced or triggered at specifically timed intervals. Independent programme and preview channels are provided along with cue-dot-based real-time bug animation acquisition. An internal keyer allows bug fading. Fade-to-black is selectable on the main programme output. An EBU R203-compatible legaliser with error detection handling is incorporated on the main programme output. A safe-area generator on the preview output provides confirmation that the bug is visible in widescreen and 4:3 aspect ratios.
The bugEyes module is fully compatible with Eyeheight's geNETics product range and, like all geNETics equipment, can easily be controlled from an external automation system. Rear panel connections comprise an SDI input, scan input, loopthrough, programme output and preview output (BNC) plus dual fast-serial PC interfaces.
