Tyrell announce closure blaming 'shift in market'

Tyrell Corporation Ltd, equipment and services provider to the UK television and film postproduction and broadcast market, has announced that it will cease accepting new business with effect from Friday 6 February 2004.
A spokesperson for the company said: "This decision has been taken as a result of a shift in the marketplace as the opportunity for Tyrell's value added resale services declined, exacerbated by some key suppliers moving towards a direct sales model".
Tyrell plans a smooth closure, honouring existing sales and ensuring where practicable that Tyrell's commitments to its clients and suppliers are met in full.
Formed in 1992, Tyrell's team of industry specialists based in offices in London, Manchester, Bristol and Dublin offered a service dedicated to the supply of production technology to the creative sector, including film, video and audio postproduction, broadcast, 3D animation.
The Tyrell office in Dublin was the subject of a management buy-out in December 2002 and is not affected by the closure announcement.
