DTS appoints Vice President of Marketing

DTS has appointed marketing veteran Don Bird as Vice President of Marketing.
In this newly created position, Bird will oversee marketing and branding activities for all areas of DTS, including Consumer/Pro Audio, Cinema, DTS Entertainment and Corporate. He brings more than 20 years of experience in the development and marketing of sophisticated technical products for the entertainment industry.
Prior to joining DTS, Bird guided several entrepreneurial firms to market-leadership positions, and held key roles in driving industry-wide technology conversions in electronic music, broadcast audio, video and film post production, and, most recently, conversion of motion picture distribution and exhibition technologies from film to digital cinema.
He spent fifteen years in senior management positions where he was responsible for sales, marketing, brand management, corporate/executive management and management of international distribution networks. Most recently, Don was Vice President, Sales & Marketing for Avica Technology Corp., a digital cinema technology company. Before that, he served as Vice President of Corporate Strategy for 360 Systems, a company specialising in broadcast digital audio products.
