FOURTH FILM CONFERENCE OPENS IN CARDIFF

THE fourth Focus on Film conference, organised by Sgrin, opened today, November 22, at the Coal Exchange, Mount Stuart Square in Cardiff.
The event provides delegates with two days of seminars, one-to-one business meetings, presentations and networking opportunities at the start of the International Film Festival of Wales.
Delegates will hear a keynote speech by Culture Minister Jenny Randerson at a breakfast meeting on November 23, a slot that is generally reserved for announcements and assessments of major developments affecting the sector. On November 21 the main speaker will be Clive Jones, Chief Executive of Carlton TV.
Other speakers include professionals from the US and Canada and from Pinewood studios, near London.
A record number of delegates have registered for this year’s conference – around 150, compared with around 90 last year. They come from as far away as Canada, and represent a wide spectrum of industry professionals and new recruits. (CD)
